Critical Facility Assessments

WES offers comprehensive evaluations and assessments for your data centers and critical facilities that provide real intelligence to guide effective solutions.

What affects your facility is unique and distinctive to your operations. Because risk is influenced by natural and man-made vulnerabilities, unanticipated consequences should be addressed proactively.  WES also specializes in reactive forensic assessments and analysis to discover and understand system failures that threaten availability and reliability of your critical systems and facilities.  We work with thousands of data centers and critical facilities around the globe, performing numerous engagements for valued customers, leading computer hardware manufacturers and support organizations.

The WES critical facility assessments are comprehensive environmental evaluations designed specifically for computer facilities, concentrating on factors that affect hardware reliability and system availability. These services focus both on actual room conditions at the time of the assessment as well as the ability of the facility to provide stable and appropriate conditions that consistently meet the specific requirements of the hardware. They provide both a useful baselines of conditions, as well as identification of actual problems and potential susceptibilities that could impact hardware operations.   The final deliverable provides multiple levels of summary data, allowing for executive level briefing, management oversight, and solution provider detail. Data is included regarding local and site specific concerns, and targeted upgrade responses.

  • Proactive baseline health check audits
  • Reactive forensic hardware failure analysis
  • Power space and cooling baseline planning assessments
  • Basis of Design Assessments (BOD)

  • Contamination and corrosivity identification

Critical Facility Assessment Brief

The Basis of Design (BoD) assessment provides a compilation of operational and engineering standards that defines the expectation for an IT facility availability and resiliency providing a common and standard scoring system for comparison of facilities across the organization.  Master elements can include security, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, site communications and architectural evaluation of the facility. It provides a framework for risk identification & mitigation, while prioritizing remedial work based upon magnitude, impact, and criticality to overall operations.

  • Review of existing design documentation.
  • Develop a framework for comparison
  • Compare to Industrial and National standards
  • Tabulated site to site comparison data output
